Recognition of an employee who has significantly contributed to the overall success of Astra Bank…that is the mission of the Shining Star program. This award is given out on a quarterly basis to an employee who has gone above and beyond the call of duty in their day-to-day work. They are also nominated by their fellow peers.  Astra Bank is pleased to announce the three recipients of the “Shining Star” award for the 2^nd quarter of 2018 are Nikki Frasier and Chris Desbien!

Nikki has worked for Astra Bank for only a short time but has picked up on her duties and responsibilities very quickly. She has been nothing short of a dependable and hardworking employee since joining the team. There are additional reasons why Nikki was nominated (and chosen) as a recipient for the award. These include:

• Nikki has been a huge asset to the Scandia team;
• She is a quick learner and is willing to learn new things;
• It is evident that she wants to succeed in her position at the Bank;
• Nikki works hard on learning the customers in Scandia and in Belleville and is active in the community;
• Nikki shows her commitment to the Bank as she demonstrates Astra Bank’s core values.

Chris has been with Astra Bank for a year and a half, and prior to that was with Midwest Community for 13 year. With over 18 years of banking experience there is no doubt why she has been a great asset to the loan department and can always be counted on to get the job done and get it done right.  There are additional reasons why Chris was nominated (and chosen) as a recipient for the award. These include:

• Chris has been a great asset to the Astra Bank loan department;
• She is a tremendous help to the Loan Officers in Plainville and is willing to do what it takes to get the job done;
• She stays busy helping out at both the Palco and Plainville locations;
• Chris makes sure customers are always first and takes time to build relationships with both Astra Bank and Midwest customers;
• Chris has years of banking experience and is willing to share that knowledge with others;
• Chris demonstrates Astra Bank’s Core Values on a daily basis.
