The mission of the Shining Star Award Program is to recognize an employee who has significantly contributed to the overall success of Astra Bank.
These employees work hard to display Astra Bank’s core values and were nominated by their peers for the Shining Star Award. Astra Bank is proud to announce the Shining Star Award winners for the 2019 1st Quarter are Holly Nondorf and Sue O’Connor!
Holly Nondorf

Having been with Astra Bank for 4 years, Holly has become a vital part of the Residential Real Estate team. She works diligently to understand everything about her role and her playful outlook means there’s never a dull moment. Here are more reasons her peers nominated her for the Shining Star Award:
- Holly has taken on the position of Mortgage Underwriter and is committed to gaining as much knowledge as possible to assist in making the RRE Team effective and efficient;
- Holly has taken on the role as the go-to person for the Loan Origination Software program;
- She has taken on the Supervisory role within her position and has worked hard to provide guidance for her team;
- Holly did an excellent job as the go to person in the last audit;
- Holly also helps the RRE Loan Officer and is always there when the work load gets heavy. You can count on her to get the loans closed in a timely manner.
Sue O’Connor

As the Compliance Officer for Astra Bank, Sue excels at making sure the bank’s practices align with current regulations. Beyond that, Sue can be counted on to provide support wherever it may be needed, displaying her kind and professional attitude. Here are the reasons her peers believed she should be a Shining Star Award Winner:
- Sue is always willing to help when she can;
- Sue shows concern for both the Bank and her co-workers;
- Her position is sometimes difficult in that she has to make sure she stays in compliance, no matter if she agrees with it or not.However, she does this and still remains professional and kind;
- Sue exhibits Astra Bank’s Core Values and goes above and beyond for the Bank;
- Sue gives great advice and is a great co-worker.
