Excellent employees are the key to building a great organization. Without the determined effort of exemplary individuals an organization cannot flourish. Astra Bank seeks to reward these important individuals through our Shining Star Award Program.
The mission of the Shining Star Award Program is to recognize employees who have significantly contributed to the overall success of Astra Bank.
These employees work hard to display Astra Bank’s core values and were nominated by their peers for the Shining Star Award. Astra Bank is proud to announce the Shining Star Award winners for the 2019 4th Quarter are Bryan Armendariz and Jessica Housholder!
Bryan Armendariz

Bryan is genuinely passionate about Astra Bank’s community involvement and actively works to improve and expand the programs that help our communities flourish. Bryan also is involved in the community personally and gives much of his time to his church. Family is very important to him and he enjoys spending time with his wife, Laura, and their 3 children. Here are the reasons his peers nominated him for the Shining Star award:
- Bryan has embraced his role as Astra Bank’s CRA Officer, which has led to a strong CRA program;
- Bryan continues to show strength in his position, which is demonstrated in his day to day duties and responsibilities;
- Bryan has coordinated Astra Bank’s involvement with the Neighbor to Neighbor Financial Peace Program and the Laundry Love Program.These programs require him to attend events that are outside of normal work hours;
- Bryan continues to create good working relationships in the communities that we serve;
- Bryan researches CRA credit ideas with an open-mind and embraces these as opportunities to grow the CRA program;
- Bryan has sought out training opportunities to educate himself and is currently working on his CRCM certification;
- Bryan’s hard work and dedication to Astra Bank shows his ability to meet each one of the Bank’s Core Values.
Jessica Housholder

Jessica can be relied upon to consistently provide exceptional service to Astra Bank customers, whether she’s working with loan customers or helping out on the front line. Her positive attitude and teamwork makes her a vital part of the Astra bank team. In her free time, Jessica enjoys playing sports and helping out on her family farm. Here are more reasons why her teammates nominated her for the Shining Star award:
- Jessica provides excellence every day;
- She is always ready to help in any role and has continued to take on new roles and responsibilities;
- As a Personal Banker IV, Jessica has been challenged with her increased duties and responsibilities, but she always manages to do it with a smile;
- Jessica always makes sure that our front line is covered and runs smoothly;
- With all her added duties, Jessica never complains;
- Jessica does an excellent job helping Layne and Ben on the lending side of the bank;
- Jessica has a very strong attention to detail and plays a key part in making sure the loan files are accurate;
- Jessica has demonstrated the commitment and teamwork needed to allow Astra Bank to provide excellent service for our customers and our staff.
