In an effort to continually improve the safety and security of your financial information while utilizing Astra Bank’s Online and Mobile Banking, we will be updating some security features within these services on March 7th.
Secure Login with Two-Factor Authentication
Every time you login to your account, Online and Mobile Banking utilizes strong, multi-layered security that not only confirms your credentials, but also confirms the device you are using. You may be asked to verify your identity when you use a new device to log in, to complete certain types of transactions, or if we suspect suspicious activity.
Two-Factor authentication (2FA) provides simple access to your accounts and powerful protection against online fraud. When 2FA is enabled, after entering your password, you’ll also need to enter a code that is sent to your phone via text or call. This extra layer of security ensures that even if someone obtains your password, they would still need access to your phone to get the code, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized access to your account.
What Will You Need to Do?
After the update on March 7th, the first time you login you will be asked to set up your phone number to be used for two-factor authentication. During future logins, if a new device is detected or our system suspects suspicious activity, you’ll be asked to further verify your identity by receiving either a text message or a phone call containing your one-time passcode. Simply enter this code to securely log in.
You can manage your preferences for two-factor authentication from inside of Online or Mobile Banking. For Online Banking, “Profile” is where you can manage your personal settings and for Mobile Banking, these options will be managed from the “More” page.
