As part of Astra Bank’s community-focused high school debit card program, Astra Bank was proud to recently present the Abilene Cowboys/Cowgirls with a check for $501.40. This amount represents card purchases and transaction funds earned through the School Spirit Debit Card Campaign. The presentation took place on February 19th at Abilene High School. 

Denise Guy, Superintendent of Schools, was very appreciative of the funds. “We have limited funds for our band program, and with the large numbers, the instruments are being used heavily and additional equipment is needed.” Aaron Tompkins, Director of Bands, indicated Abilene was able to purchase a ride cymbal rack, stand, splash cymbals, and a cabasa for the band to use. He was very ecstatic as this is the most kids the band has seen and the new equipment couldn’t have come at a better time!
