With the arrival of students on the horizon and the end of summer near, approximately 400 USD #489 staff members were busy preparing their classrooms and wrapping up meetings as they readied themselves for another school year. We bet thinking about what they are going to have for breakfast (the most important meal of the day) is likely the furthest thing from their mind – but never fear, Astra Bank is here! We were privileged to have had the opportunity to serve breakfast for the UDS #489 school staff on August 16th and couldn’t think of a better way to kick off a new school than with biscuits and gravy!

As bankers, Astra Bank is proud to be a part of the communities in which it serves. We know the education of our youth, and those that do the educating, are critical elements to the viability of our communities. Staff members were certainly surprised when we showed up and we received many a thank yous from folks that enjoyed the meal, before heading back into their classrooms and offices to continue getting ready for the kids.

As a community bank, Astra is proud to participate in activities like these to help the communities we serve. We take special pride in our commitment to education, and even offer a special High School Debit Card program with many of our area school’s mascot proudly displayed on the cards. In addition to showing your school spirit when you’re “out and about” with a branded card, a donation is made to your school of choice with every purchase. So the more you use the card, the more we can give back to the schools to help pay for books, sports equipment, supplies, special events, etc.
