Astra Bank is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2016 “Shining Star” of the Year Award. Join us in congratulating Cody Palen, VP Ag/Commercial Loan Officer!  The mission of the Shining Star program is to recognize an employee who has significantly contributed to the overall success of Astra Bank.

Cody has been with Astra Bank for a little over a year.  In that short period of time, Cody has taken strong initiative to create processes that help the lending efficiency within Astra Bank.  There are several reasons why Cody was nominated (and chosen) as a recipient for the award, which is ultimately decided by the Board of Directors. These include:

• Cody has been a tremendous asset to Astra Bank throughout 2016;
• Cody has done an outstanding job in working through tough lending situations;
• Cody has a unique ability to explain and teach his co-workers and peers;
• Cody goes above and beyond in his position as a VP Loan Officer;
• He is a great example to others on showing co-workers how to effectively manage loan portfolios;
• Cody has reflected tremendous leadership skills in heading up the new loan sub-committee in an effort to drive lending culture within the Bank;
• Cody has taken time to educate others on presentations and appraisals;
• Cody is self-driven, motivated and a great leader;
• Cody is a prime example of the mission, vision and core values of Astra Bank.
