Recognition of an employee who has significantly contributed to the overall success of Astra Bank - that is the mission of the Shining Star program. This award is given out on a quarterly basis to an employee who has gone above and beyond the call of duty in their day-to-day work. They are also nominated by their fellow peers.  Astra Bank is pleased to announce the three recipients of the “Shining Star” award for the 4^th quarter of 2017 are Brent Reith, Brittney Poppe, and TR May!

Brent has been with Astra Bank for four years. Brent is always willing to help in any way that he can. There are additional reasons why Brent was nominated (and chosen) as a recipient for the award. These include:

• Brent is a person that goes “above and beyond” in helping the Astra Bank staff;
• Brent even takes on tasks that aren’t in his functional area (i.e. Electrician);
• Brent takes time to analyze tasks and tackle them in the best, most efficient way (i.e. electronic subpoena);
• Brent will listen to any issue and almost always comes back with a solution, no matter how big or small the issue;
• Brent is well known throughout the Bank and I’ve never heard one negative comment about him.  Additionally, when the staff talks about Brent, it’s always very positive;
• Astra Bank employees are grateful for his knowledge, his willingness to help and his obvious dedication to the Bank and the Core Values.

Brittney has been a part of Astra Bank for over five years. She takes on new responsibilities and handles challenges as they come. She is a great asset to the Astra team. Other reasons Brittney was nominated (and chosen) for the award is:

• Brittney has done a great job working with both retail and lending, as she is helping to develop and define the Personal banker;
• Brittney takes initiative to learn her position as a Lending Assistant II, while also taking the necessary steps to advance her knowledge with retail;
• She has a great attitude towards teamwork, perseverance and Astra Bank’s Core Values;
• Her attitude, aptitude and willingness to learn is a true testament to her dedication and loyalty to the Bank;
• Brittney has been a team player and a role model within the Bank.

TR has been a part of the Astra Bank team for seven years. You may recognize him from many of our television commercials (if you haven’t seen it you’re missing out)! TR is one of the first people to volunteer for events and is always willing to help out where he can. Other reasons TR was nominated (and chosen) for the award is:

• TR has taken on several challenges over the course of 2017;
• TR handles challenges extremely well;
• He is a tremendous asset to the RRE Department and has taken on overseeing the RE Loan Operations group;
• TR has worked with the staff to try to make the department run more efficient and effective;
• He is always the first person to volunteer for extra events;
• He is always willing to help open and close the Hays location;
• TR has a positive attitude and employees enjoy working with him;
• TR puts others before himself and tries to be as accommodating as possible.
